IGNOU Admission 2025: July Session Last Date Extended Till 30 September For ODL Courses

In a recent announcement on the official website of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), the last date for the July 2025 admissions has been extended. The official notification was released on September 16, 2025, and addressed the previous fresh admission and re-registration dates. The Student Registration Division (SRD) stated that the previous July 2025 fresh admission date has been extended till September 30, 2025. The extended date is announced for all notified programs offered online and in ODL mode. However, candidates must note that the new schedule does not apply to the semester-based and certificate programs.

In addition to the fresh admissions for the July 2025 session, IGNOU Re-Registrations are extended to September 30, 2025. For the candidates to register themselves again for the programs offered in the ODL and online mode, there will be a late fee of INR 200. The announcement added that this is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority. The updated policy is applicable for registration, refunds, admission cancellation, fee rules, and required documents to facilitate successful form submission. 

How to Apply for ODL Courses at IGNOU

Candidates pursuing an ODL course from the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) can apply online. The link to the official website is ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Extending the last date for fresh admissions and re-registrations offers an opportunity for students who missed the earlier deadline. Students who failed to apply earlier can now seize the chance to do so by September 30, 2025. 

Here's the stepwise procedure for candidates applying for the ODL courses at IGNOU.

Step 1: Visit ignou.ac.in, the official website of the IGNOU.

Step 2: Here, on the homepage, you will find the 'Register Online' link. Click on the link and choose 'Fresh Admissions'.

Step 3: The window for new registration will appear. Click on the 'New Registration' link. 

Step 4: Fill out the form by entering your basic details, such as name, mobile number, address, email ID, and date of birth. 

Step 5: Create your login credentials and save them. 

Step 6: Complete all the required information, revise it, check for errors, and click the 'Submit' button. 

Step 7: You will receive the login details on your registered mobile number and email address. 

Step 8: Use the credentials shared with you and log in to the website. 

Step 9: Choose the program you want to join as your preference, i.e., ODL or Online. 

Step 10: Submit the completed registration form. 

Step 11: Pay the non-refundable registration fee online via online payment modes and ensure the payment is done successfully. 

Step 12: Download and save the completed registration form for future reference. 

Candidates applying for re-registration must note that they will be charged a late fee of INR 200, paid online.
