IGNOU MCA Admission 2025: IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) has started the admission process for the MCA (Master of Computer Applications) course on 06 June 2025 for the July 2025-26 academic session. Students who want to take admission must submit their application form through IGNOU’s official portal. They must complete their admission process before 15 July 2025.

Before filling out the application, applicants must ensure that they have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a recognised university or its equivalent qualification. The application fee for the IGNOU MCA course is INR 300, while the course fee is INR 12,700/Semester. The duration of the course is 2 years (minimum) to 4 years (maximum). 

IGNOU’s MCA syllabus covers the subjects, including Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Web Design, Data Communication and Computer Networks, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Science and Big Data, Cloud Computing and IoT, Mobile Computing, etc. After completing the degree in computer science, the students can work on a good profile in multi-national companies if they have a keen interest in programming.

Students who are looking to take admission in IGNOU MCA (Master of Computer Science) must be ready with their documents as the university has released the application forms on 06 June 2025, and the admission window will be closed by 15 July 2025.

IGNOU MCA Application Form 2025

IGNOU offers admission twice a year for the MCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) course (in January and in July). The application forms are available on the university' Samarth portal from 06 June 2025 for the academic session July 2025-26. Interested candidates must complete the admission process before 15 July 2025 through the official website of the university. The entire admission process is online, and no need for any entrance exam. 

While submitting the application form, students must ensure they have a valid ID, academic documents, a passport-size photo, a signature, and a category certificate (if applicable). A Debit/Credit card is also required to pay the non-refundable application fee of INR 300.

IGNOU MCA Admission Eligibility Criteria 

Students willing to pursue careers in Computer Science can enroll in the IGNOU MCA (Master of Computer Applications) course. Eligibility to take admission to MCA at IGNOU is given below:

• Bachelor of Computer Science (BCA) or its equivalent from a recognised university. OR
• BSc/BCom/BA with mathematics at the 10+2 level or at graduation level + Bridge courses offered by IGNOU (Programming in C and Python and Data Structures and Algorithms).

IGNOU MCA Syllabus 

IGNOU MCA syllabus comprises Theory Subjects, Practical Subjects, and a Project. Theory subjects provide basic knowledge of concepts, practical courses give practical experience in AI, Data science, etc. The complete syllabus of the course is based on a total of 80 credits, students must pass 20 credit subjects in each semester.
