IGNOU MCA Admission 2025: Eligibility, Dates, Fee, Syllabus

IGNOU MCA Admission 2025: IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) will start the admission process for the MCA (Master of Computer Applications) course on 01 June 2025 for the July 2025-26 academic session. Students who want to take admission must submit their application form through IGNOU’s official portal. They must complete their admission process on before 30 June 2025. 

Before filling out the application, applicants must ensure that they have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a recognised university or its equivalent qualification. The application fee for the IGNOU MCA course is INR 300, while the course fee is INR 12,700/Semester. The duration of the course is 2 years (minimum) to 4 years (maximum).

Students who are looking to take admission in IGNOU MCA (Master of Computer Science) must be ready with their documents as the university is going to start the admissions for the course. IGNOU will release the application forms on 01 June 2025, and the admission windo will be opened by 30 June 2025.

 Only those students will be eligible to take admission in the MCA at IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) who have completed their Bachelor’s degree/Undergraduate degree from a recognised university. The students have to pay a non-refundable application fee INR 300, and semester fee INR 12,700 to enroll in the course. They can complete the course in 2 years (a minimum duration) to 4 years (a maximum duration). 

IGNOU MCA Application Form

IGNOU offers admission twice a year for the MCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) course (in January and in July). The application forms will be available from 01 June 2025 for the academic session July 2025-26. Interested candidates must complete the admission process before 30 June 2025 through the official website of the university. The entire admission process is online, and no need for any entrance exam. 

While submitting the application form, students must ensure they have a valid ID, academic documents, a passport-size photo, a signature, and a category certificate (if applicable). A Debit/Credit card is also required to pay the non-refundable application fee of INR 300.

Students willing to pursue careers in Computer Science can enroll in the IGNOU MCA (Master of Computer Applications) course. Eligibility to take admission to MCA at IGNOU is given below:

• Bachelor of Computer Science (BCA) or its equivalent from a recognised university. OR
• BSc/BCom/BA with mathematics at the 10+2 level or at graduation level + Bridge courses offered by IGNOU (Programming in C and Python and Data Structures and Algorithms).

The admission portal for the MCA (Master of Computer Applications) course at IGNOU is set to open on 01 June 2025. The admission portal will remain accessible until 30 June 2025 for students applying for the July 2025 session. Students who hold a graduation degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university are eligible to apply for the MCA course. IGNOU MCA Syllabus 

IGNOU MCA syllabus comprises Theory Subjects, Practical Subjects, and a Project. Theory subjects provide basic knowledge of concepts, practical courses give practical experience in AI, Data science, etc. The complete syllabus of the course is based on a total of 80 credits, students must pass 20 credit subjects in each semester.
