IGNOU Admission 2025-26 July Session: IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) will release applications soon for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, PhD, Diploma, and Certificate courses. IGNOU Admission 2025 for the July academic session is likely to begin from 23 May 2025, and the last date to apply will be 30 June 2025. The interested and eligible candidates can apply online by going to the official website @ignou.ac.in.

The University offers a variety of UG, PG, PhD, Diploma, and Certificate programs. UG courses include BCom, BSc, BA, BCA, BSW, BBA, BLib, etc, and Postgraduate courses include MA, MCom, MSc, MSW, MCA, MLib, MBA, etc. IGNOU also provides PhD programs to students who want an advanced research degree. The university also facilitates students to pursue several Diploma and Certificate courses to students and professionals to upgrade their knowledge in a specific area.

About IGNOU University

IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University), established in 1985, is located in New Delhi. It is known for the various open and distance education-related courses and is recognised internationally. The university offers 333 programs through 57 regional centres that include UG, PG, Diploma, Certificate, and Doctoral courses in a number of disciplines, including Computer Science, Management, Social Work, Tourism, Science, Commerce, Languages, Humanities, and Social Science. 

IGNOU consists of 2257 learning support centres. The university provides these courses through online and offline modes. Online courses are provided through the IGNOU SAMARTH portal. Eligibility for the Undergraduate programs is at least Class 12/Intermediate, and for Postgraduate programs is at least a Graduation/Bachelor’s degree. Candidates must possess a Master’s degree/Postgraduate degree to take admission in PhD (Doctor of Philosophy).

The university invites applications two times in a year. Application forms for the January session are released in October-November, and application forms for the July session are released in May-June. 

IGNOU Admission 2025-26 July Session

The university will invite admission forms for various UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate courses through the official website, expected on 23 May 2025. Students who are interested in taking admission at IGNOU can apply by paying the application fee of INR 300. IGNOU Admission 2025-26 last date will be 30 June 2025 for all courses in the July academic session. IGNOU does not conduct any entrance exam for admission except for BEd and PhD. 

Students have to give an entrance exam if they want to take admission in BEd or PhD. The application fee for these two courses is INR 1,000. Students who are willing to pursue BCom, BSc, BA, BCA, BSW, BBA, BLib, MA, MCom, MSc, MSW, MCA, MLib, MBA, Diploma, and Certificate courses can take admission at IGNOU directly without any entrance exam. They must ensure that they are fulfilling the minimum eligibility to enrol in the course. 

The university course fee differs according to the duration, level, and specialisation of the course. IGNOU Undergraduate course fee is between INR 4,500-20,000/Year, and Postgraduate course fee is between INR 9,700-18,000/Year, depending on the course. Students can complete the Diploma course with a fee of INR 2,400-20,000 (depending on the specialisation), and the Certificate course fee is INR 500-3,800. IGNOU PhD course fee is INR 17,850.

IGNOU UG Admission 2025-26

IGNOU UG admission forms for the academic session July 2025-26 are going to be released on 23 May 2025. The last date for the UG admission at IGNOU is expected to be 30 June 2025. Several undergraduate (UG) courses are available at the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), including B.Com, B.Sc., B.A., BSW, BBA, B.Lib, BEd. These courses cover many disciplines like Social work, Tourism, Science, Computer Science, Management, Commerce, Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences, etc. 

Only those candidates are allowed to take admission to the UG courses who meet the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the university. Students who wish to enroll in any UG course at IGNOU must possess at least 10+2 (stream varies as per the UG course) from a recognised board. No entrance exam is needed to take admission (Except BEd). The university conducts an entrance exam to select the candidates for the B.Ed program. IGNOU UG courses application fee is INR 300 except B.Ed. 

Students have to pay INR 1,000 as a non-refundable application fee for the B.Ed entrance exam. The university offers UG courses at very affordable fee that is between INR 4,500-20,000/Year, depending on the course. It is advised that the students must complete the admission process before the closing date of the admission. 

IGNOU PG Admission 2025

IGNOU offers numerous PG courses like MA, M.Com, M.Sc., MSW, MCA, M.Lib, MBA, etc, in a variety of fields such as Computer Science, Management, Commerce, Language, Social work, Tourism, Science, Humanities, and Social Science. The university will commence the admission process from 23 May 2025, and the closing date for admission will be 30 June 2025 for the upcoming academic session July 2025. Minimum eligibility to take admission at IGNOU PG courses is a Graduation/Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks from a recognised institute. 

IGNOU gives a 5 % reservation to the applicants who belong to the SC/ST/OBC category. No entrance is needed to enroll in PG courses at IGNOU; students can fill out and submit the application form by visiting the official website of the university @ignou.ac.in. At the time of filling the application form, students are required to pay an application fee of INR 300 (a non-refundable fee). The total fee of the IGNOU PG course is between INR 9,700-18,000/Year, depending on the specialisation of the course.

IGNOU Admission process 2025

IGNOU Admission Status 2025

Once the admission form is submitted, students can check their admission status by visiting the official website of the university. IGNOU facilitates the students to check their admission status after admission. Checking admission status helps students to make sure that they are enrolled in the course.

To check the IGNOU admission status 2025, applicants need to visit the official website of the university. Then they must look for the tab ‘Registration Status’ or they can directly go to the admission status check link, https://isms.ignou.ac.in/changeadmdata/AdmissionStatusNew.ASP. Next, students must provide their enrollment number and program code to log in.

Then they have to click on the ‘Submit’ button. Once applicants submit the enrollment number and program code, they can view the admission status. Admission update can take some time to reflect on the admission status portal of the university. If the applicants did not find any update related to their admission, they must contact to the university through the contact number/email ID available on the IGNOU’s website.

IGNOU Re-Registration 2025

IGNOU re-registration window is now open for the July academic session, and the last date to fill out the registration form is 30 June 2025. The university re-registration works only for those students who are enrolled in any Undergraduate or Postgraduate program at the IGNOU. The re-registration window is opened to ensure that students are continuing their studies in the next semester/year.

It is a necessary step for students to maintain their registration and eligibility to attend classes. The university opens the re-registration window twice a year. Students have to make a payment of a late fee of INR 200 if they did not re-register on the university portal within the given deadline.

Students must go through the online portal of the university (https://onlinerr.ignou.ac.in/). To complete the re-registration process, they are required to enter their Enrolment Number, Registered email ID, and Mobile number, etc.
