IGNOU MA English Admission 2026: The university will start accepting MA English admission applications for the academic session 2026-27. Applications will be available from 01 December 2025* on the official portal of the IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University). Interested students are required to go through the university website to complete the admission process. IGNO MA English admission fee is INR 300, and the annual course fee is INR 6,000. 

Applicants must ensure their eligibility to enroll in the course before filling out the application. They must possess at least a graduation degree from a recognised university. Duration of the MA English at IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) is 2 years (Minimum) and 4 years (Maximum). Students have to complete a total of 64 Credits within the duration of the course to get a degree. The medium of instruction is English, and the course is language-based. 

Students enrolled in the IGNOU MA English course are evaluated based on Assignments and TEE exams (Term-End Examinations). There are a total of 8 subjects that are included in the complete syllabus of MA English. The subjects are: Indian English Literature, British Drama, British Novel, Criticism and Theory, American Literature, Literature in English Translation, British Poetry, and Comparative Literature: Theory and Practice.

The university offers an MA in English with a minimum duration of 2 years and a maximum of 4 years. Only those students can apply for the course at Indira Gandhi National Open University who meet the eligibility criteria to pursue the MA English. Minimum eligibility to enroll in the course is:

• A Bachelor’s degree/Undergraduate degree with at least 45-50% marks from a recognised university.

IGNOU MA English Admission Process 2026

IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) will release the application forms for the MA English program. Students who want to take admission in the Master of Arts (English) can fill out the application form by going through the admission portal of IGNOU. The university opens the admission portal with a set deadline.
