IGNOU Law Admission 2026: Application Form, Last Date, Eligibility & Syllabus

IGNOU Law Admission 2026: IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) will start accepting admission forms for various Law courses from 01 December 2025* for the academic session January 2026. Students who are seeking to get knowledge in cyber law, business law, and environmental law can fill the admission form by visiting the university official website (ignou.ac.in) before 31 January 2026*. IGNOU offers Diploma and Certificate courses in Law; it does not provide Bachelor's and Master's in Law.

IGNOU Law diploma and certificate full course fee is INR 2,500 - INR 8,400 (depending on the course and specialisation), and the application fee is INR 300. The duration of the diploma course is a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 3 years, and the duration of the certificate course is a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 24 months. Eligibility to pursue a diploma in law requires a Bachelor's degree, and at least 10 + 2 is required to pursue a certificate in co-operative law, business law, humanitarian law, cyber law, etc. IGNOU does not offer LLB or LLM degrees; it offers only diploma and certificate courses in law.

IGNOU Law admission process will start at the official site for the academic session 2026-27. All the candidates who are interested in law can fill out the online application form before the deadline of 31 January 2026*. The university offers Certificate and diploma courses in Law. Students who possess a bachelor's degree are eligible to apply for the diploma course, and students who have at least a 10 + 2 are eligible to apply for the certificate course in law.

The minimum duration of the diploma course is 1 year, and the duration of the certificate course is a minimum of 6 months. The IGNOU law course application fee is INR 300. Before filling out the application form, students must ensure that they are meeting the eligibility criteria.

IGNOU Law application forms will be released in December 2025 for the January 2026 session. IGNOU provides only Diploma and Certificate courses in Law; it does not offer LLB or LLM degrees. The application fee is INR 300; the applicants have to submit a scanned copy of a passport-size photo, signature, national ID, and educational documents to complete the application form.
