IGNOU Online MBA Admission 2026: Dates, Eligibility & Fees

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will open the online MBA admission process for the January 2026 session from 01 December 2025*. Interested candidates can fill out the application form through the official portal, Samarth, before the last date, 31 January 2026*. The application fee is INR 300 (non-refundable).

Students are not required to sit in any entrance exam, but they must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 50% marks (or 45% for applicants belonging to the SC/ST category). IGNOU online MBA course fee is INR 16,000 for I, II, & IV semesters and INR 17,000 for the III semester. The duration of the course is a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 4 years.

The university offers an online MBA in several fields through the Department of Management. The fields include banking, human resources, finance, marketing, operations, agribusiness, logistics, and supply chain management. The syllabus consists of a total of 80 credits divided into 4 semesters covering Core subjects, Elective subjects, and Project.

IGNOU Online MBA application fee is INR 300, and the course fee differs as per the semesters. The students have to pay INR 15,000 for the 1st, 2nd, and 4th semesters, and INR 17,000 for the 3rd semester. Candidates can pay the fee online through the UPI, Debit card, Credit card, or Internet banking. After the completion of the application form, students can check the status of admission on the university website. They just need to log in to the ‘Admission status check’ portal of the university to view the status of their admission at the Online MBA program.

The application forms for the July 2026 session are available from 01 December 2025* to 31 January 2026*. IGNOU provides MBA admission twice a year (once in May and once in November). Applicants should ensure they fill out the admission application before the closing of the admission window. 

To apply, candidates must have the necessary documents, including a passport-size photo, signature, national ID, educational documents, category certificate (if applicable), and the non-refundable application fee (INR 300). Only those students are eligible to apply for the IGNOU online MBA who have passed their Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution.
