IGNOU Online MCA Admission 2026: IGNOU Online MCA application forms are available online on the official website of the university. The forms will be released on 01 December 2025* for the academic session January 2026. Students who are willing to take admission in the Online MCA course must submit their application form by 31 January 2026*. The university will not accept admission applications once the submission date is over. 

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers an Online Master of Computer Science to those students who want to pursue careers in the Information Technology or Software Engineering field. This course is best for those who have an interest in computer programming. Eligibility to enroll in the course is a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or its equivalent qualification from a recognised institute. Students who have studied Mathematics in Class 12 and at the Graduation level are also eligible to enroll in the course. Students can apply for the program by paying an online application fee of INR 300 (non-refundable). Students also have to pay INR 12,700 per Semester as a course fee. Apart from this, Students who have to study the subjects MCS-201 and MCS-208 must pay an additional INR 2000 per subject.

Students can complete the course in a minimum of 2 years, and it can be extended up to a maximum of 4 years. The syllabus of the IGNOU Online MCA course includes subjects like Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Software Engineering, Mobile Computing, Mathematics, Web Design, Data Communication and Computer Networks, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Data Science and Big Data, Cloud Computing and IoT, etc.

For the academic session January 2026-27, IGNOU Online MCA application forms will be released on the university portal on 01 December 2025*, and will remain available till 31 January 2026*. Students who have completed their graduation degree in Computer Science and have to fill out the application for the Online MCA must ensure that they have all the required documents at the time of filling out the application form. IGNOU Online MCA Admission Eligibility Criteria 

The university offers Online MCA admissions to those who are interested in the field of Information Technology and want to work as a software engineer. But before filling the application form, they must ensure that they are eligible to take admission in the course. Minimum eligibility for the Online MCA admission 2026 is:

• A BCA degree from a recognised institute or its equivalent. OR
• A BSc or BCom or BA degree with Mathematics at the Class 12 or graduation level + two bridge courses (Programming in C and Python and Data Structures and Algorithms). These bridge courses are offered by IGNOU.

IGNOU Online MCA Admission Process 2026

The university will start Online MCA admission for the academic session January 2026 from 01 December 2025*. Students can apply for admission within the stipulated time. They can apply for admission before the closing date of 31 January 2026*. IGNOU allows only those students to enroll in the course who have done a Graduation degree/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institute. The course duration is a minimum of 2 years, which can be extended to 4 years (maximum).
